Things we did

Some memorable stops.

Hobbiton Set Tours

I mean, this is the classic set to that New Zealand is known for. They preserved the set of Hobbiton. I'm not personally a fan of Lord of the Rings but even I enjoyed walking through the landscape houses nested into the side of the hills. See Map

Redwood Treewalk

Come around sunset and walk the treetops canopies of these redwoods to enjoy the lantern installations. Well worth the stop. See Map

Blue Spring Putaruru

A really beautiful and tempered walk along the colorful waters. There is a nice walkway if you want to stop by and enjoy a bit of the natural scenery. I still distinctly remember how clean the water was. See Map

Māori Rock Carvings

I was really excited to see this carving that we kyaked 16 miles to see it. It's a giant carving on the side of a lake featuring a face and figures. It tells the story of a native Māori folklore. See Map

Waitomo Glowworm Caves

Sail through the caves to see the glowworms in action. These are a specialty native to New Zealand. See Map
