Things we did

Some memorable stops.

Fushimi Inari Shrine

Long romantic walk along the red gates. See Map

Arashiyama

This place is overly populated with tourists, so I would recommend coming really early in the morning. It's the famous bamboo walk. You may occasionally see girls dress up in their kimonos. See Map

Kinkaku-Ji

A three-story building of a Zen Buddhist Temple. It's a gold temple that is a popular stop. The building is surrounded by natural landscape and seems to float on water. See Map.

Things we ate

Some memorable stops

Gingo Ramen Kubota

Popular local spot with thick broth dipping ramen. The shop is small so most likely you will see a little lunch line to get seated. Absolutely worth it for some tsukemen noodles See Map

Honke Owariya Main Branch

One of the more memorable soba noodle shops we went to. Both the noodle and broth were made with perfection. Feels like they maintained the traditional methods of making soba. See Map
