👟 Walkability

🙏🏼 Thank you

Not a common tourist spot, so often times it is easy to feel like a foreigner. Everything feels very spread apart. Encouraged to leave the city to explore the natural landscape.

The name says it all. It's cold here. Most people bundle up practically. Go outdoorsy wear. Bring a beanie.

Low, even in Reykjavik, we would recommend a carto get around.

Things we did

Some memorable stops.

Visit Blue Lagoon

A natural geothermal spa in sourthwestern iceland. Water is milky white blue and is said too have skin healing properties. Our flight landed at the wee hours of 4am and we used the spa to kill time before checking into our Airbnb. See Map

Walk around Reykjavik

In the cozy little town of Reykjavik, we enjoyed our stroll to visit Reykjavik Roasters for their hot mocha (See Map) and then around the corner to Hallgrimskirkja (See Map)

Drive the Golden Circle

With a dozen or more stops along the 'Golden Circle' this will take you on a 300 km loop (3 hour drive nonstop) outside of Reykjavik where you can see all of the most famous stops in Iceland. We recommend starting early in the morning so you can squeeze as much as you can into the day. We stopped at Gullfoss Waterfall (See Map), Kerid Crater (See Map), Geysir (See Map), Thingvellir National Park (See Map), Þingvellir church (See Map), Friðheimar Greenhouses (See Map), just to name a few. The landscape at each stop will vary depending on what time of year you go.
